Building reopening Update:

May 22, 2020

Dear TRILIFE Family,

The governor of Massachusetts has initiated the process of reopening our state by launching Phase One of an incremental plan to allow businesses and organizations to reopen under strict guidelines.  We wanted to update you on our plan and next steps as a church community in light of Governor Baker’s decision.

First, we just want to clearly state that we will not make any decisions that we do not believe are safe for our entire community. We have no desire to force meeting together if it is not in the best interest of our church family and our neighborhoods.  Over the next several weeks we are going to be wise, listen to our health officials, and seek God for genuine wisdom and discernment.  Although Governor Baker has allowed places of worship to reopen, we still need to use care as we move forward.

We have been working with other Foursquare Churches in our region to determine the best date for us to implement a Stage One plan for church gatherings. We will be following the Massachusetts COVID-19 Places of Worship and Religious Services Guidelines in order to maintain an environment of safety for everyone who attends our on-site services. Technically, the sector specific COVID-19 safety standards for Places of Worship and Religious Services allow for churches to start physically meeting under strict social distancing guidelines. The guidelines can be found at

https://www.mass.gov/lists/safety-standards-for-places-of-worship.

The gathering of God’s people matters.  It is something worth contending for, but we also value caring for the safety of all people.  We ask that you pray for us as a pastoral leadership team as we do our best to lead and make informed decisions.  And may we also pray for Governor Baker and our state leadership to be filled with wisdom as they make decisions that affect every citizen in the state of Massachusetts.

This situation is very fluid, but we want you to know our plan. We will maintain our Sunday livestream services and Zoom meetings for the remainder of May as we prepare our church building to reopen. We are tentatively scheduling an outdoor service on June 7, 2020. We will communicate further details within the week.

We are not a people of fear, but we are also not a people of ignorance and arrogance.  Listen to health officials.  Be humble in your perspective of others who disagree with you.  Genuinely pray for the civil authorities who are making decisions.  Do not stop being generous.  Be wise and remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; the spirit of fear will only hurt you.

Please continue to join us in prayer for healing and divine aid to come to our homes, neighborhoods, counties, states, nation, and the world.  We pray that God’s gracious provision continues to be released in this season.

Know you are loved!

Serving you and Christ,

Pastors Arnold and Monica
